Porktober is a month-long celebration of Scottish pork, held every October. It’s organised by Scottish Craft Butchers, in collaboration with Quality Meat Scotland (QMS) and independent butchers across the country, including Bel’s Butchers.
The campaign aims to:
🥓 Promote Scottish pork as a high-quality, locally produced, and affordable meat.
🍳 Encourage people to cook with pork more often by sharing recipes, cooking tips, and nutritional information.
🐖 Support local farmers and butchers by raising awareness of the benefits of buying locally sourced pork.
💪 Highlight pork’s versatility and value, showing that it’s a healthy, protein-rich option suitable for all sorts of dishes — from roasts to stir-fries.
